Skibbereen Men’s Shed looking for new members

SKIBBEREEN Men’s Shed is now located in the Tower Lodge, Liss Ard Estate (Turn right at Lake Cross for Tragumna, drive for a few minutes and Tower Lodge is located on the right hand side as you turn left again for Tragumna).

The men meet there every Wednesday from 3pm – 7pm.

The shed are looking for new members all the time – it is open to all men over 18 and is affiliated to the Irish Mens Sheds Association (IMSA). IMSA have a great website if you want more information on the background to the men’s shed movement in Ireland)

At the moment, the men are busy painting and getting settled in the lodge and are also working on building currachs. The men have rowed the currachs in the Baltimore Wooden Boat Festival (and won a cup!!) and also rowed down the Ilen river to Inishbeg recently at the launch of the new slipway on North St.
