About Shed
Our Shed, as a member of the Irish Men’s Shed Association, is working towards a future where all men in the local area have the opportunity to improve and maintain their health and well-being by participating in a community-based Men’s Shed. Since we started in 2015 our main project has been the restoration of an old coach house, which is now a comfortable facility for our activities.
We currently offer wood turning, art and horticulture but members are welcome to start new activities to suit their interests. In December 2020 we assembled two new greenhouses which are ready for the new growing season in 2021. The Art group are working to develop Digital Art. The Woodturners produce pens, bowls, lampstands using two lathes.
Some members just come for a social chat over tea/coffee and biscuits.
We are also contribute to the local community through making a range of outdoor seats and doing project work at St Joseph’s Dementia Care Centre.
