Baltinglass Men’s Shed was formed in March 2014 with 5 members. Today we have a total of 15 members ranging in age from 40 – 90 (the majority are over 70). We meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 to 12.30
a) Helping with charity events organised my members of our local community.
b) We grow vegetables in 6 raised beds in the local community garden centre called Tereman Gardens which is a large recreational area for the local community to enjoy walks and grow their own vegetables. Produce either given away or sold at minimum price.
c) We also help when needed in the maintenance of Tereman Gardens.
d) We carry out some carpentry work when members of the community hand in their broken garden furniture to be fixed.
e) Very important to us is the coming together of our members 3 days a week for a chat and cup of tea with the odd festive dinner cooked in the shed for the members together with attending other social events such as visiting other men’s sheds.
