SOUTH TIPPERARY MEN SHED NETWORKING DAY A HUGE SUCCESS
Recently, the Men Sheds in Tipperary had an Networking Day in Cahir. This event was coordinated by Veronica Crowe, Community Education Facilitator with Tipperary ETB. Men’s Sheds from Tipperary Town, Cahir, Clonmel, Cashel , The Commons/Ballingarry attended. Guest speakers on the day included Tom Ryan and Amy Scanlon, Tipperary ETB Guidance, who gave a snapshot of the various services available to adults returning to education. John Evoy, CEO of the IMSA, and David Maher also attended and gave presentations on Men Shed, how they were formed, their principles and practices. The day also involved each Shed giving a brief presentation of their weekly routine and some tips for new and up and coming Sheds. The main objective of the meeting was to share ideas, information and experiences and that it certainly did. The information and skills shared on the day proved invaluable to Sheds especially ones that were just formed. Going forward, ongoing networking was a definite goal, so watch this space. Thanks to Lil and her staff in Cahir Day Care who catered for this event, to all the men who attended and to Tipperary ETB for spearheading this event. Well done to one and all.
