About Shed
June 2026:
Ballymahon Men`s Shed was formed in January 2026. We have made huge strides in our very short history in finding a place to call home.
Ballymahon GAA have given the Shed access to the Clubhouse for our meetings and social place. The GAA have also given us the use of a 40 Foot container which we are currently refurbishing and hope to have a functioning workshop up and running very shortly.
We are very thankful to Ballymahon GAA for all their help and assistance in getting us this far. Also, huge thank you to Longford County Council for their efforts in facilitating the Shed. Thank you also to Ballymahon Vocational School for offering us access to Woodwork and Metal Working rooms in the school.
We also owe a huge word of thanks to local businesses that have assisted us. These include Peter Hanley Motors, Affinity Credit Union, Wide Street Brewing, Bank of Ireland – Ballymahon and Gerety Farm Machinery.
At present, we have 20 members who actively participate in meetings, social gatherings and indeed, work parties, to get the workshop going. So. onward and upward is the current motto of Ballymahon Men`s Shed.
We entered a float in the St. Patrick`s Day Parade in Ballymahon and won a cash prize and a plaque for the Best New Entry. We held a very successful Coffee Morning recently in association with Bank of Ireland. It was well attended by Shed members, the public and our friends in local Sheds in County Longford.
