IMSA Pre-Budget Submission in Dáil Éireann
The Irish Men’s Sheds Association launched its 2027 Pre-Budget Submission in the AV Room of Leinster House on Wednesday.

We were encouraged by the very positive response from the TDs and Senator who attended and engaged with us on the future of the Men’s Sheds movement in Ireland.
Over the past 15 years, Men’s Sheds have become a vital part of Ireland’s community infrastructure. There are now 484 active Sheds across the Republic of Ireland, and we expect this number to exceed 500 within the next year.
Sheds provide men with a supportive and collaborative space to connect, improve their health and wellbeing, share skills, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Shed members from across Ireland were present to highlight the real issues affecting the operation and sustainability of their Sheds, and to share powerful personal stories about the difference Sheds have made to their lives and local communities.
Decisive support from Government is now required to ensure that Ireland’s Men’s Sheds movement is sustainable into the future.
We believe the measures outlined in our 2027 Pre-Budget Submission would provide Sheds and their members with the support needed to protect and strengthen this vital community resource for years to come.
