A Safe Space
It’s a chilly Thursday morning but inside Bray Men’s Shed, a wood-fired stove is burning, cups of tea are being poured and a welcoming atmosphere does a lot to dispel the cold.
It’s a fun and relaxing place for friends to meet up and spend time together, but there’s something more important than just that going on here. The 30 or so men who use this facility are grabbing life by the scruff of the neck. By being part of a community, they’re guarding against some significant threats to their well-being, and high up on the list of those threats are social isolation and loneliness.
