Armagh Men’s Shed
Armagh Men’s Shed are pleased to announce that they have raised £6,000 in aid of their charity Macmillan Cancer Support following a number of fundraising events. The members made a Wendy House and Love Seat during their joinery course at Southern Regional College and together with a lovely patchwork quilt made by one of the members’ wives Mairead Toner, they used these as prizes for a raffle. The men have been selling tickets outside local supermarkets and other areas every weekend from July to September and are so grateful to the people for their continued support for this very worthy cause. They also held a very successful coffee morning. There was a great supply of home baked goods on show which created a bit of friendly rivalry among the men but there was hardly a crumb left at the end of the day.
The Armagh Men’s Shed members would like to thank Gareth Mone and Darren Little their joinery tutors and also Doreen Lappin and John Muckian from SRC. Also thanks to Killeen Hardware, and Macari’s Paint Shop for their sponsorship and Mairead for the quilt.
