Daffodil Benches
The ‘Daffodil Bench Project
In association with our long standing partner The Irish Cancer Society, IMSA has developed a project which unites Sheds with their local authority on renovating and painting existing public benches ‘Daffodil Yellow’. The benches have a QR quote attached offering links to practical services and supports provided by the Irish Cancer Society. The aim is for the Daffodil Benches to be ‘conversation starters’ and to become spots for reflection, remembering and gathering places within their local communities.
Our vision is for the landscape to become filled with ‘Daffodil Yellow’ Benches over the coming years as symbols of hope and resilience. This is a wonderful and natural partnership between IMSA and The Irish Cancer Society who have worked side by side for many years on campaigns, workshops, research and promotions in relation to Men’s Health over the years.
If you are a Shed or a Local Authority interested in supporting a Daffodil Bench in your community, please get in contact at the email below and the IMSA will do the rest. The process is we make the connections, supply a Daffodil Bench pack and agreement. The simplest of ideas, many Sheds are enjoying being involved following the successful launch of the first Daffodil Bench in Skerries, North Dublin (this bench has had over 1400 hits on its QR code).
