Provincial Men’s Sheds Events Announced

Since our first Men’s Shed get together in Goery in 2010 we have endeavored to hold a number of meetings each year where men from all of the Men’s Sheds on this Island would come together and share ideas, learn from each other and enjoy each other’s company.  We have had some great events in Tipperary, Arkolw, Limerick, Moynalty, Dundalk, Sligo and most recently in Kilarney.

In some ways we have become victims of our own success and as the numbers of Sheds and participating men grow, it has become unmanageable to have meetings where all those in attendance can interact and learn from each other.  So this year we are going to have four Provincial Men’s Sheds Meetings, followed by one National conference in the fall of the year.

These will take place over the coming months and will be hosted by sheds that have a suitable hall nearby.

The dates and venues for these meetings are as follows.

We hope that these will be very useful, worthwhile and fun events. A number of challenges facing the ongoing development of the Sheds will be discussed.

Two issues which we constantly receive enquiries about are health and safety and how best to support our fellow Shedders’ wellbeing; we will have workshops on these as well as a Pallet Challenge (what can a team from your shed produce from 2 pallets in two hours)  and a look at how the Sheds in each province can work together as our numbers grow.
