The Board of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association resolved to abide by the Guiding Principles of Fundraising (ICTR) on 4th March 2014 and will renew its commitment annually at its March Board Meeting. The Irish Men’s Sheds Association endorses the following Donor Charter:

  • We will maintain the best standards when receiving donations.
  • We will treat our donors with honesty and respect.
  • You will be informed of the identity of those serving on our Board and they will ensure that your donations are used effectively for your intended purposes.
  • We will provide out most recent financial statement when requested.
  • All donors will receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
  • We will respect our donors’ right to privacy and confidentiality.
  • To have the opportunity to have your name deleted from our donor mailing list.
  • To be able to ask questions when making a donation and to receive a prompt and honest reply.
  • You have the right to complain and the right to receive a satisfactory response.
  • You will be informed whether those seeking donations are employees, volunteers or third party agents.

All donations will be:

  • Used solely for the purposes of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association’s mission and objectives.
  • Acknowledged unless no acknowledgment is requested.
  • Financial records will ensure accountability.
  • Subject to an annual audit by a firm of independent auditors.
  • We will comply with the Data Protection Act.

Fundraising Feedback & Complaints Procedure

As we value our Donors it is important that we facilitate any feedback or complaints.

If you feel unhappy about any issue we will work to bring it to a satisfactory solution.

As we are committed to upholding the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising (ICTR) it is important that we do our utmost to ensure that our dealings with the public and our supporters are of the highest standard.

  • We therefore aim to make it as easy as possible to make a complaint.
  • We treat as a complaint any clear expression of dissatisfaction which calls for a response.
  • We deal with it quickly and politely.
  • We will respond with an explanation or an apology when we have got it wrong and giving any information on any action taken.
  • We learn from our complaints, use then to improve and monitor them at Board level.

If you complain in person or over the phone we will try to resolve the issue at the time.  If you complain in writing we will acknowledge your complain within seven days and do everything possible to resolve it within 28 days.

If your complaint is not resolved it can be brought forward to the Chairman of the Board who will ensure that your appeal is considered at Board level and will respond after the next Board Meeting.
